FROM THE EDITORS
This journal is aimed at Hong Kong secondary students. Its purpose is to help you enjoy studying science. All the articles are written by students studying science at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Until recently, just like you, they were at school and they were also trying to understand more about science. This is why they are the best people to write these articles for you because
they know what you are studying and they know how best to help you understand it.
These articles will show you that science is not just something you study at school; it is all around us and understanding how it works can be fun and it can make our lives more interesting. To make it easier for you to pick an article that suits your level you can refer to the box at the top which indicates who the target students are, but you are also welcome to read the articles for other levels because there are always interesting things to learn from them.
The articles are written in the kind of English the writers think is suitable for the level of students they are aiming at. So articles for lower forms use easier English than articles for higher forms. In general, however, the English for these articles should not be too difficult to handle for most secondary school students.
