In this workshop, students will learn to use interesting vocabulary and grammatical structures (e.g. synonyms, simile, words that describe actions and senses) for fiction writing. We will analyse the 3-act plot structure and linguistic features commonly employed in short stories using Ivan Turgenev’s First Love as a point of reference. Students will then be guided step by step to write a short story in small groups.
* This workshop consists of two online sessions and two face-to-face sessions. Students will be required to complete about two hours of online work (i.e. viewing online lectures and completing some short online tasks) before attending the first face-to-face session.
