Research into Practice in the four-year Curriculum Symposium

We are delighted to invite you to the Academic English Symposium to be hosted by the Centre for Applied English Studies of the University of Hong Kong on Friday 1st June 2012, with the theme Research into Practice in the four-year curriculum. This, the third symposium, follows on from those previously hosted by the English Language Centre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Once again, the Symposium aims to bring together stakeholders in Hong Kong tertiary English language teaching to discuss issues that EAP practitioners face in the development and implementation of the four-year curriculum.

We are now inviting proposals on a range of topics that relate to the Symposium theme, including curriculum development, materials design, e-Learning (both innovative use of platforms and implementations), out-of-class learning (both self- and other-directed), assessment (including innovative ways of providing feedback) and inter-disciplinary collaboration. We invite you to submit a proposal for a paper or workshop by 15th January 2012 through our online abstract submission system from December 2011.
